Apple Announces Collaboration with Canon for New Spatial Lens

According to TapTechNews on June 11, in the ongoing Apple WWDC2024, Apple announced a collaboration with Canon to launch a brand new spatial lens that can shoot in the Apple Spatial Video format. The lens is RF-S7.8mm F4 STM and is claimed to work better when paired with the Canon EOS R7 camera.

TapTechNews learned that Canon has previously launched the RF 5.2mm F2.8 L DUAL FISHEYE fisheye lens. The domestic price of this lens is $2,100 (approx. 14399 yuan), which is mainly used for shooting VR videos. However, it is currently unknown whether this lens is compatible with the relevant spatial video mode.
