Geely Releases New God Shield Dagger Battery

TapTechNews June 27th news, Geely today released the latest generation of its own research and production of blade-type lithium iron phosphate battery - the God Shield Dagger Battery.

The God Shield Dagger Battery has a length of 580 millimeters, and through a shorter and more compact size and volume design, it achieves higher safety and further enhances the flexibility of the whole package layout.

The energy density of the God Shield Dagger Battery is 192 watt-hours per kilogram, has a cycle life of 3500 rounds, and the safe driving mileage exceeds 1 million miles, and it can charge from 10% to 80% in 17 minutes.

The God Shield Dagger Battery passed the 8-needle simultaneous puncture test of the China Automobile Center: Eight steel needles with a diameter of 5 millimeters were simultaneously punctured and remained stationary for 1 hour, and the battery cell did not smoke, catch fire, or explode.

The official also announced other safety test results of the God Shield Dagger Battery, including cell acupuncture, battery pack seawater corrosion immersion, battery pack three-sided drop heavy impact, battery pack external fire, vehicle negative ridge impact test, vehicle forward scraping bottom test, vehicle rear scraping bottom test, vehicle underbody test, etc.

The God Shield Dagger Battery will be the first to be installed in the new all-electric SUV Geely Galaxy E5.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, the Galaxy E5 is expected to be launched in August, and the expected price is $19500 - $25500. The Galaxy E5 has a maximum power of 160kW, the official moose t est speed is 78 km/h, the zero to 100 km/h acceleration time is 6.9 seconds, and the braking distance from 100 km/h is 35 meters. The Galaxy E5 provides two types of God Shield Dagger Batteries with specifications of 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh, and the cruising range under the CLTC condition is 273 miles, 329 miles.
