Volkswagen Golf 50th Anniversary and the New 2025 Golf R

TapTechNews June 27th news. The first Volkswagen Golf was born in 1974. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Golf.

FAW-Volkswagen has now officially released the teaser image of the Golf 50th Anniversary Legend Edition, but only announced the launch date of July 2. We currently know nothing about this new car. For reference, the current Golf on sale starts at 129,800 yuan.

It is worth noting that Volkswagen released the facelifted 2025 Golf R and Golf R Wagon yesterday. The new model not only enhances performance but also adopts new exterior styling and technical configurations.

The new Golf R will be the first to hit the market in Europe in June. The starting price of the hatchback model is 44,310 pounds (TapTechNews note: currently about 409,000 yuan), and that of the wagon is 46,555 pounds (currently about 429,000 yuan). It is expected to start delivering in October. The Mk8.5 Golf R may be the last R-series model with a fuel engine.
