TapTechNews August 20th news, at today's 2024 NIO Power Day event in the afternoon, Li Bin, the founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, announced that NIO Energy's new headquarters will be located in Wuhan Optics Valley Digital Economy Industrial Park.
Moreover, NIO Energy will build a new manufacturing center in Wuhan Optics Valley, covering an area of up to 20,000 square meters, with a target maximum capacity of battery swap stations reaching over 1000.
Today (August 20th), Wuhan's first NIO fourth-generation charging and swapping integrated station went online in Optics Valley. Up to now, NIO has laid out 89 battery swap stations and 882 public charging piles in Hubei Province.
TapTechNews noticed that in May this year, NIO Energy Investment (Hubei) Co., Ltd. received a strategic investment of 1.5 billion yuan RMB from institutions such as Wuhan Guangchuang New Technology Phase I Venture Capital Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership) (referred to as Wuhan Guangchuang Fund). This round of strategic investment will be used for technological research and development, manufacturing, operation and maintenance in the fields of charging, battery swapping, energy storage, battery services, energy internet, etc., as well as the layout and development of NIO Energy's charging and swapping infrastructure, and to support the investment in the innovative business of vehicle-grid interaction.
