QNAP Launches First 10 GbE L3 Lite Managed Switch QSW-M3224-24T

TapTechNews July 18th news, QNAP today launched its first all-10 GbE L3 Lite managed switch, the QSW-M3224-24T, in a 1U rack and provides 24 10 GbE Multi-Gig network ports (10G/5G/2.5G/1G) and a 480 Gbps switching capacity.

QNAP product manager Deng Zhiqiang said: The QSW-M3224-24T not only meets the needs of low-latency and high-density 10G network applications but also supports advanced IP routing and network segmentation management.

The QSW-M3224-24T adopts the latest QNAP switch system (QSS) Pro network management software and supports L3 Lite management functions, including IP settings (IPv4, IPv6, DNS), static routing, DHCP server, SNTP, and advanced VLAN functions, enabling more refined deployment and management of segmented network transmission infrastructure. TapTechNews noticed that it also supports the multi-chassis link aggregation (MC-LAG) function, which can ensure the uninterrupted operation of the switch network, improve fault tolerance and availability.

With the IGMP snooping function and SNMP management as well as the AV-over-IP wizard, the QSW-M3224-24T can connect multiple audio and video terminals and forward multicast traffic to other devices, avoiding network congestion and unnecessary data transmissions, thereby reducing latency and improving network connection efficiency while also enabling optimized network management.

The QSW-M3224-24T is equipped with 24 10 GbE RJ45 ports and is compatible with Multi-Gigabit NBASE-T (10G/5G/2.5G/1G) technology (requires CAT6A or higher specification network cables to exert 10,000-Megabit capacity), providing a 480 Gbps switching capacity and can connect multiple L2 managed switches, unmanaged switches, and high-speed network devices.

In addition, it also provides Layer 2 management functions (such as LACP, ACL, and QoS) for efficient network bandwidth control and enhanced network security, and supports the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), enabling users to deploy small and medium-sized networks that support expansion, redundancy, and loop prevention.
