Microsoft Word Lagging and Freezing on Mac, Temporary Solutions Provided

TapTechNews May 23rd news, in the past few months, many Mac users have encountered severe lagging and freezing (unresponsive) issues with Microsoft Word. Recently, Microsoft officials confirmed that they are working on fixing this problem and provided two temporary solutions for users at the same time.

TapTechNews noticed that complaints about lagging and freezing of Word for Mac appeared on multiple platforms such as Apple and Microsoft forums, Reddit, etc. Even after Apple released the macOS Sonoma 14.5 update on May 13th, users still encountered this problem. Many users said they had to quit Word or restart the Mac to make the application run again, but the problem would soon reappear.

This week, a Microsoft customer service representative replied on the Microsoft forum that the bug has been submitted to the development team and they are currently initiating an investigation and conduct repair work.

Regarding the temporary solutions, the Microsoft customer service representative suggested trying to download an earlier version of the Office for Mac suite, such as 16.84 or 16.83, etc., to see if it can solve the problem. Another option is to temporarily use the web version of Microsoft 365.
