Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site's No. 2 Work Position's Water Spraying Test Success
TapTechNews July 18th news, according to the news of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group on the evening of July 17th, on July 12th, the first-level water spraying test of the water spraying and noise reduction system at the No. 2 work position of the space test technology division of the 101 Institute of the Sixth Research Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology Group for the Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site achieved a complete success.
It is introduced that the water spraying and noise reduction system at the No. 2 work position is the first large-scale engineering project undertaken by the 101 Institute at the Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site, and it is also the rocket launch pad water spraying and noise reduction system with the largest water spraying volume in China (even larger than that of TapTechNews).
As an important part of the first liquid universal launch work position in the Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site, the water spraying and noise reduction system at the No. 2 work position can meet the needs of 19 different types of rockets for the personalized and multi-functional requirements of water spraying and noise reduction.
The 101 Institute of the Sixth Research Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology Group said that the success of the first-level water spraying test is not the end but the starting point. The project team will continue to complete the full-system water spraying capacity test, fully cooperate with the full-system joint practice of the first launch vehicle, optimize the matching of interfaces and the coordination of work among various systems, and ensure the success and flawless completion of the first launch mission.
The No. 2 launch work position of the Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site was announced to be completed on June 6 this year. In addition to the No. 1 launch work position completed at the end of last year, the Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site has completed the construction of two launch work positions and initially has the ability to perform rocket launch missions.
In the second half of this year, the launch site will welcome the first rocket launch. According to the annual launch plan, the Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site has entered the full-system joint practice stage of the first launch vehicle of the Long March 8 Modified Rocket and the Long March 12 Rocket.
