China Railway Industry's Pure Steel Frog Production Line Achieves Milestone

TapTechNews August 2nd news, on July 31st, the Chinese pure steel frog production line invested and built by China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group under China Railway Industry officially produced the first set of pure steel frogs in China, marking a new milestone for China's railway frogs.

Frogs are the most critical components in railway turnouts, and their status and lifespan directly affect the normal operation of the line. It is introduced that for a long time, the production equipment and technical processes in the smelting, casting and heat treatment processes of domestic enterprises have been relatively backward, resulting in unstable performance and status of frogs.

Compared with ordinary high manganese steel frogs, pure steel frogs have a more stable and finer organizational structure and excellent physical and chemical properties. The performance indicators such as the tensile strength, hardness and impact toughness of the material have been significantly improved, and at the same time, the defects of steel can be reduced and the service life can be prolonged. Experiments show that the wear resistance and impact resistance of pure steel frogs have been greatly enhanced, and the traffic volume and service life are increased by 1.7 times compared to ordinary high manganese steel frogs.

TapTechNews noticed that China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group also invested in the largest automatic molding production line for railway frogs in China, realizing the centralized control, intelligent scheduling and remote monitoring of the entire casting and heat treatment process. The overall production efficiency is increased by 15%, the energy consumption is reduced by 7%, and the annual production capacity reaches 15,000 sets, which is 20% higher than before commissioning.
