Nvidia Turns its 2017 April Fool's joke into reality with Project G-Assist

At that time, they introduced an AI game assistant named GeForce GTXG-Assist, which could help players automatically complete game operations, even defeat bosses on their behalf. Although it was just a joke back then, things have changed, and now Nvidia has really turned this concept into reality with the Project G-Assist initiative.

Thanks to the rapid development of artificial intelligence in recent years, especially the progress of large language models (LLMs), Nvidia found that by utilizing the GeForce RTX AI functions built into the graphics card, practical AI assistance features can be added to the game. Currently, the details of Project G-Assist have not been fully disclosed, but it is known that it will allow players to query information through methods such as voice, image recognition, and application programming interfaces, and acquire relevant information using the cloud or local knowledge database provided by GeForce RTX to assist players in better gameplay.

According to Nvidia, G-Assist can act as a game guide, helping players find winning weapons and tactics, or guiding novice players to find the required materials. It can also check the game settings and recommend optimization plans to fully utilize the hardware performance.
