At present, the total number of affected employees is not yet known, but insiders said that the layoffs seemed to hit Google Cloud's 'go-to-market' team in the Asia-Pacific region the hardest, with nearly 100 employees laid off. However, a Google spokesman said that the actual number is 'a little lower'.

The internal document cited in the report said that the teams affected by the layoffs include the consulting, partner engineering and sustainability departments.

According to TapTechNews' understanding, since the beginning of this year, Google has carried out multiple rounds of layoffs, including laying off at least 200 'core' team employees in early May. In addition, Google has also restructured some of its businesses, resulting in some work being transferred to India and Mexico.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai had revealed at the beginning of this year that the layoffs will continue until the end of this year, although the scale of the layoffs will not be very large.
