Hainan Nuclear Power's deputy general manager Deng Xiaoliang introduced, Since the beginning of the design, Linglong One is not only used for power generation, but also has multiple uses such as cogeneration of heat and power, cogeneration of steam and electricity, urban area heating, seawater desalination, industrial process heating, and self-owned power plants.
After the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected that the annual power generation can reach 1 billion kWh, which can meet the electricity demand of 526,000 households in Hainan Province. At the same time, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 880,000 tons per year, which is equivalent to planting 7.5 million trees in a year. It not only can help China's dual carbon goal to be achieved as soon as possible, but also has important significance for continuously promoting the safe development and independent innovation of nuclear power and providing green energy guarantee for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and Ecological Civilization Demonstration Area.
