Completion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Data Center Project

TapTechNews May 22nd news, according to CCTV reports, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Integrated Data Center Project located in Zhenjiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong has officially been completed today. Currently, the Shaoguan Municipal Government and China Telecom have jointly established an intelligent computing power investment promotion working group to jointly carry out investment promotion for intelligent computing power projects.

This project is the first large-scale all-liquid-cooled intelligent computing center in the Greater Bay Area, and it is the core layout of the national 'East Data and West Computing' in the Greater Bay Area, and one of the eight major hub nodes of the national integrated computing power network.

According to the introduction, the total investment of the first phase of the project exceeds 3.2 billion yuan, covers an area of about 98 mu, and the total construction area is about 95,000 square meters. It builds a data center and an all-liquid-cooled intelligent computing center according to the national A standard with high quality. According to the new-generation AIDC architecture, new technologies such as liquid cooling, artificial intelligence, digital twin, and integrated security protection are applied, which will provide about 15,000 P (TapTechNews note: 1 PetaFLOPS means 15,000 trillion floating-point operations per second) of computing power services.

Technical personnel disclosed that a single intelligent computing center can provide 38 liquid-cooled cabins, and each liquid-cooled cabin can provide about 385 P of computing power. Compared with traditional computer rooms, it can save about 60% of the refrigeration energy consumption.
