TapTechNews June 9th news, according to the news of "Changzhou Release", on June 9, the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge was successfully closed with "millimeter-level" accuracy and achieved full line connection. This world's largest span cable-stayed bridge is expected to have traffic conditions by the end of April next year.
According to the introduction, the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge has six "world's most" and four "world's first" from design to construction:
The world's first temperature adaptive longitudinal restraint system of tower-girder
The world's first "steel-concrete" mixed structure space diamond-shaped bridge tower
The world's first step-shaped scour reduction and self-weight reduction caisson foundation
The world's first "steel box-core concrete" combined cable tower anchoring structure
The largest multi-functional load asymmetrically arranged bridge
The largest span cable-stayed bridge
The largest continuous length steel truss girder
The largest scale carbon fiber composite material cable
The largest span rail-cum-road steel truss arch bridge
The largest strength bridge parallel wire cable-stayed rope
TapTechNews learned that the main bridge span of the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge has reached 1208 meters (about 3963 feet), almost spanning the river with one jump, reaching the world's largest. After completion, the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge will connect Changzhou City and Taizhou City, starting from Gangqu Avenue in Xinbei District, Changzhou City across the Yangtze River夹住 River, passing through Luanzhou, across the main channel of the Yangtze River, and ending at Liuwei Port Avenue in Taizhou City, Taixing City.
The Changtai Yangtze River Bridge adopts an upper and lower double-layer layout, with the upper layer being a six-lane expressway, and the upper and lower sides of the lower layer are respectively set as a two-way intercity railway and a four-lane ordinary highway (about 2.47 miles).
After the closure, the constructor will continue to complete the construction of the steel structure accessory facilities such as the bridge deck guardrails, etc., and complete the static and dynamic load tests and handover acceptance inspection by the end of April next year. By then, the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge will be ready for traffic.
