The report stated that the quarter-on-quarter decline was partly due to the seasonal impact after the Black Friday shopping season in North America and the Double Eleven shopping season in China. Despite the launch of Apple's VisionPro HMD, the global VR HMD market remained weak in the first quarter of 2024. Meta's shipments decreased, and Sony and Pico were facing tremendous pressure from inventory build-up. The enterprise-level VR market demonstrated stronger resilience than the consumer-level market.

TapTechNews learned from the report that the global AR smart glasses shipments increased by 40% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024. However, due to the end of the Black Friday shopping season in North America and the impact of the Double Eleven shopping season in China, the market decreased by 45% quarter-on-quarter. The agency expected that North America and China will account for nearly 90% of the global AR smart glasses market share. After VITURE launched its VITURE One series of glasses in China, it rose to the third place in the AR smart glasses market.

Counterpoint predicted that Apple's AppleVisionPro, Meta's new products, Samsung's and vivo's planned products to be released in 2025, etc., will all bring more growth to the market.
