TapTechNews August 3rd news, TapTechNews learned from Shanghai Stock e-interaction that SAIC Motor stated in responding to investors' questions yesterday that as of now, SAIC Robotaxi has carried out demonstration operations in several areas such as Shanghai, Suzhou, with a total of nearly 100 vehicles and a cumulative driving mileage of up to 2.485146 million miles and orders of more than 200,000. Subsequent commercial operations will be carried out according to the overall planning and arrangements of relevant laws, regulations and government departments.
This investor also raised the question: Will the laying of RISING Auto's battery swap stations continue? Will the rise of driverless taxis increase the demand for battery swap models? SAIC Motor replied that on the basis of the existing stations, the Jiuting battery swap station in Songjiang, Shanghai was put into operation at the end of July this year, and the company will continue to track the development trend of driverless taxis and make reasonable layouts according to the situation of technology, regulations, and the market.
In November 2023, RISING Auto's first double-bay battery swap station was launched, with 40 reserve batteries and capable of battery swapping 560 times a day. Relying on the double-bay structure, this battery swap station supports 90-second ultra-fast battery swapping. Relying on Jieneng Zhidian, RISING Auto cooperates with Sinopec and PetroChina, etc., claiming to be the first to create battery swapping without power outage and through battery swapping, and can enter the station without reversing.
In December 2022, the Robotaxi (autonomous taxi) equipped with SAIC's self-developed advanced level 2.0 autonomous driving technology of AILAB was officially put into operation in Shanghai Lingang. The official said that SAIC Mobility Robotaxi 2.0 intelligent driving system has been comprehensively upgraded and iterated, equipped with the latest multi-sensor deep fusion solution for mass-produced vehicles, with excellent perception accuracy and field of view width, excellent ability to deal with long-tail scenarios, and at the same time, the perception system has a higher degree of integration with the vehicle and the cost is further reduced.
