New Kindle Reader with Advanced Features Set to Release on September 30th

TapTechNews September 25th news, according to Goode-Reader report, Spanish retailer MediaMarkt has recently launched a new Kindle e-reader, and its release date is set for September 30th. This device is considered to be the upcoming 12th-generation entry-level Kindle from Amazon.

The new Kindle e-reader is equipped with a 6-inch, 300-ppi screen with improved contrast, and the backlight brightness is increased by 25% compared to the previous-generation model released two years ago. In addition, it also has a faster page-turning speed and a new dark mode, which can reverse the color of the monochrome e-ink screen. However, it is not yet clear whether it supports warm-tone screen illumination or whether it will adopt the improved EInk Carta 1200 screen used by Amazon in the 11th-generation Kindle Paperwhite released in 2021.

The new 12th-generation Kindle is slightly lighter than its predecessor, weighing 154 grams, which is 4 grams lighter. It also has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a USB-C port, 16GB of storage space, and a battery that is claimed to last up to eight weeks. The device will have at least two color options: black and matcha green.

MediaMarkt has set its price at 119 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about 932 yuan), but it does not state whether it comes with advertisements. When the 11th-generation Kindle was launched two years ago, the version with lock screen advertisements cost 99.99 US dollars, and the version without lock screen advertisements cost 119.99 US dollars.
