TapTechNews September 25th news, TapTechNews learned from the Hefei Municipal People's Government that this morning, the construction commencement activity of the Hefei Guoxian 8.6-generation flexible AMOLED production line project was held. The total investment of this project is 55 billion yuan, engaging in the research and development, production and sales of medium-sized AMOLED-related products, covering application fields such as tablets, laptops, and automotive, and will create the world's first 8.6-generation AMOLED production line equipped with FMM-free technology (ViP).
It is reported that since its landing in 2018, Visionox has successively launched the construction of the 6th-generation all-flexible AMOLED production line and the AMOLED module production line. This time, it collaborates with Hefei Guoxian to build a high-generation AMOLED production line.
According to another report from Xinhua News Agency, the new production line can significantly improve the cutting efficiency and economy of medium and large-sized OLED products, and will drive the update and iteration of downstream terminals with technological upgrading to create a new driving force for business growth.
The relevant person in charge of Hefei Guoxian said that the ViP technology is a key technology for the breakthrough of OLED to larger sizes and higher generations of production lines, with core advantages such as FMM-free, independent pixels, and high precision. Compared with traditional technologies, the ViP technology can significantly improve product performance and production efficiency.
