The WSL is a service for developers, initially supporting only the command line, but Microsoft has been gradually improving and expanding the WSL functions in recent years and bringing a graphical user interface (GUI).

According to Microsoft's support documentation, users can change the number of CPU cores, the amount of memory allocated, and the size and location of the swap file in the WSL settings GUI application.

And currently, if users want to adjust the above configurations, they need to edit the text content in the.wslconfig file. After the launch of this settings GUI interface, users can still adjust it in this way.

Microsoft said that in addition to the settings GUI interface, it will also expand new functions for WSL in the future, and TapTechNews attaches the relevant contents as follows:

Experimental support for network improvements, and the ability to automatically restore the memory stored by WSL to Windows settings

Support for managing WSL virtual machines / Linux distributions from the Windows DevHome application
