Hon Hai to Prepare for Model B EV Mass Production at Year-End

TapTechNews May 31 - Liu Yangwei, the chairman of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (Foxconn's parent company), stated at the shareholders' meeting on May 31 that preparations for mass production of the Model B electric vehicle would begin at the end of the fourth quarter of this year and reservations will be accepted from the end of this year to the beginning of next year.

TapTechNews noted that the parent company of Foxconn, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., launched the all-new electric vehicle model Model B in October 2022, but it has not been mass-produced and launched on the market. According to the introduction, the drag coefficient of the Model B prototype is only 0.26, with a cruising range of 450 kilometers (about 280 miles) and acceleration from 0 to 100 in 6.6 seconds.

In the Hon Hai Tech Day event held last October, the company demonstrated the mass-production version of the Model B electric vehicle. It adopts a closed front face with a through-type lamp group design and provides regular color options such as red and blue.
