Micron Unveils 2650 SSD with Impressive Performance and Features

TapTechNews July 31st news, while Micron released its ninth-generation 276-layer 3D TLC NAND flash, it also launched the 2650 solid-state drive equipped with this flash. This drive is for daily PC and notebook use and belongs to the consumer-level OEM product.

The Micron 2650 adopts the PCIe 4.0×4 interface, and the form factor can be optionally selected from three sizes of M.2 2230/2242/2280, and the capacity covers 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, all of which are single-sided designs.

Thanks to the 276-layer 3600 MT/s six-plane TLC NAND flash B68S it is equipped with, the Micron 2650 has shown excellent results in the PCMark10 benchmark test:

Compared with several major original factory competitors based on TLC flash, the average跑分 (running score) is up to 38% higher, the average bandwidth is up to 36% higher, and the average response time result is also improved by up to 46%.

Micron Vice President and General Manager of Client Storage Prasad Alluri said

The Micron 2650 SSD has nearly reached the theoretical saturation level of PCIe Gen4. It uses our new G9 NAND and breaks through the value limit that TLC client SSDs can reach.

Compared with similar solutions, the PCMark10 benchmark score of this hard drive can be increased by up to 38%, which will redefine the user experience of such solid-state drives.
