Samsung to Use Silicon Capacitors in Exynos 2500 Chip with Promising Prospects

TapTechNews July 17th news, the Korean media bloter posted a blog on July 15th, revealing that Samsung plans to use silicon capacitors in the Exynos 2500 chip.

TapTechNews note: Silicon Capacitor (SiliconCapacitor) usually adopts a 3-layer structure (metal/insulator/metal, MIM), which is ultrathin and close to the semiconductor in shape, and can better maintain a stable voltage to deal with current changes.

Silicon capacitors have many advantages, making them one of the commonly used components in integrated circuits:

First, the manufacturing cost of silicon capacitors is relatively low and can be mass-produced in large quantities through batch manufacturing.

Second, silicon capacitors have high reliability and long life. Due to their simple structure and easy processing and integration, the failure rate of silicon capacitors is relatively low.

In addition, the size of silicon capacitors is small and takes up less space, which is suitable for the miniaturization and high-density integration of integrated circuits.

Reports indicate that Samsung Electro-Mechanics has developed test equipment for mass-producing the Exynos 2500 chip, and the preliminary mass production work of the chip is ready and is about to begin mass production.

Samsung plans to use the Exynos 2500 chip on the two phones Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ (there are relevant clues indicating that it will be cancelled, which cannot be confirmed at present).

TapTechNews previously reported that Samsung Exynos 2500 has recently made breakthrough progress. At least the current engineering samples of the taped out have reached a high frequency of 3.20 GHz, and at the same time, it is more power-efficient than Apple A15 Bionic and will become the most efficient chip so far.
