China's New Offshore Wind Power Multifunctional Ship Fenghua 23

TapTechNews June 20 news, the multifunctional operation and maintenance mother ship Fenghua 23 designed by the 708th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation and built by the Southeast Shipbuilding under Fujian Shipbuilding was officially delivered on June 13.

According to the introduction, this ship is a large-scale offshore wind power multifunctional operation and maintenance mother ship independently designed, built and with completely independent intellectual property rights in China.

TapTechNews inquiries learned that the ship has a total length of 98 meters (about 321.5 feet), a breadth of 22.8 meters (about 74.8 feet), a depth of 9 meters (about 29.5 feet), a cable carrying capacity of about 2500 tons, and can carry 20 crew members and 40 special operation personnel, with a cruising range of more than 10,000 nautical miles (about 18,520 kilometers).

After the operation deck of Fenghua 23 is specially designed, it can carry technical equipment according to different operation requirements to support the implementation of engineering services such as deep-sea wind power operation and maintenance, submarine cable laying and overhaul; the core equipment such as the offshore wind power intelligent operation and maintenance system, cable laying operation system and buried plow configured on this ship have all achieved full localization.

The 708th Research Institute is a professional research and development institution engaged in the design of offshore structures, and has successively delivered more than 30 wind power construction ships and machines, including installation platforms, crane ships, cable laying ships, wind power operation and maintenance mother ships and semi-submersible transport ships, covering all core equipment in the entire industrial chain of offshore wind power construction.
