OPPO Signs Global Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Ericsson

TapTechNews July 15th news, TapTechNews learned from the official OPPO website that OPPO announced today that it has signed a global strategic cooperation agreement with Ericsson.

The agreement includes cooperation contents such as global patent cross-licensing, technical cooperation, and marketing promotion. Among them, the global patent cross-licensing covers the cellular communication standard essential patents of both parties including 5G standards.

Feng Ying, the chief intellectual property officer of OPPO, said: 'OPPO has always respected intellectual property rights, advocated reasonable fees, advocated the establishment of a long-term and healthy intellectual property ecosystem, and resolved intellectual property disputes between the licensor and the licensee in a friendly negotiation manner, and respected the value of patents mutually.'

The official OPPO said that OPPO is currently continuously laying out 5G communication standard patents in more than 40 countries and regions around the world, and has completed more than 6,200 groups of global patent applications, declared more than 3,700 groups of 5G standard patents in ETSI, and submitted a cumulative total of more than 12,000 standard documents in 3GPP.
