It's not the first time we've seen spy photos of the electric Cayenne. In May this year, foreign media Carscoops had photographed a similar prototype, but at that time some people speculated that it might be Porsche's upcoming K1 SUV, which is positioned higher than the Cayenne. However, the latest news indicates that this car is indeed the electric Cayenne.

Like the Macan, Porsche will continue to offer both a petrol version of the Cayenne and an all-electric version of the Cayenne. The electric version will use the same PPE platform as the Macan EV and the Audi Q6 e-tron, but the body size will be larger. Although tightly camouflaged, from the spy photos, the electric Cayenne seems to be a little longer than the petrol version.

TapTechNews noticed that some key design details of the new car have also begun to emerge. For example, the electric Cayenne is equipped with adjustable aerodynamic flaps in the front, similar to the new 911, and will also use smaller front lights than the current Cayenne. Due to the tight camouflage at the rear, it is not yet possible to judge the taillight design.

The details of the power system have not yet been announced, but it is expected that Porsche will equip the electric Cayenne with a dual-motor configuration similar to the Macan EV. Given that the entry-level version of the current Macan EV has a maximum power of more than 400 horsepower, the Cayenne EV should not be lower than this value. As the electric Cayenne body is larger and heavier, Porsche may further increase the motor power for its high-end models, and there are even rumors that an extremely high-performance four-motor version may be provided.

The new car is based on the PPE platform and comes standard with an 800-volt high-voltage platform, which will support a fast-charging power of 270 kilowatts. It is expected that the charging time from 10% to 80% will only take 20 minutes, and the data indicator of charging for 10 minutes for a range of 255 miles (about 410 kilometers) can be achieved.

The new electric Cayenne is expected to debut at the end of 2025 or early 2026 and is positioned above the existing Macan EV.
