China's Robot Industry Patents, Growth and Future Outlook
TapTechNews August 21st news, at the 2024 World Robot Conference that opened this morning, Xin Guobin, the vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, mentioned that as of July 2024, China holds more than 190,000 valid patents related to robots, accounting for about two-thirds of the global share.
Xin Guobin said that the robot is known as the crown jewel of the manufacturing industry and is an important field where artificial intelligence technology is deeply integrated with the real economy. Currently, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is evolving in depth, and the global robot industry is innovating intensively and actively. The usability and configuration efficiency of robots have been significantly improved, and they are integrating into people's production and life with unprecedented breadth and depth, driving human society to accelerate into the intelligent era.
He mentioned that in the past decade, China has increased innovation policy support and promoted the transformation of production and service models, which has led to the growth of China's robot industry from small to large, and today it has become an important force in the global robot industry. China has been the world's largest industrial robot market for 11 consecutive years, and the newly installed capacity in the past three years accounts for more than half of the global total; the robot density in the manufacturing industry has reached 470 units per 10,000 workers, an increase of nearly 19 times in ten years.
Xin Guobin finally said that in the next step, China will vigorously carry out basic research and key core technology research on robots, actively improve the robot + application system, and promote the high-quality development of China's robot industry.
TapTechNews reported on August 9th that Chang Tiewei, the person in charge of the Employment, Income Distribution and Consumption Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, also mentioned that China's service robots in delivery, education, medical and other fields are continuously upgraded, and the output of service robots in the first half of 2024 increased by 22.8% compared with the same period last year.
The 2024 World Robot Conference is held from August 21st to 25th at the North People's Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (Beijing Yizhuang), focusing on three chapters: industrial development, collaborative innovation, and technological innovation.
The 2024 World Robot Expo continues to adopt the robot + application scenario display method, deeply cultivates mature applications, and expands emerging scenarios. It has invited more than 150 domestic and foreign robot leading manufacturers, well-known companies, and industry newcomers such as Boston Dynamics, Unitree, and Tesla to participate in the exhibition, and more than 60 enterprises will make their debut, and more than 50 new products will debut.
