Apple Announces New Password Management Tool 'Passwords' at WWDC2024

TapTechNews on June 11th, Apple announced a brand-new password management tool named Passwords at the WWDC2024 global developers conference held today. It will be the first to be launched on the macOS platform and will later be available on iOS/iPadOS 18 systems and the Windows platform.

The keychain made its debut 25 years ago. Now, macOS Sequoia has launched a new App Passwords on this basis, bringing passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords, and other credentials together in one place for more convenient access.

The application can also suggest when passwords need to be changed and identify duplicate passwords used in multiple locations, but it also has a feature that excites those who compute on multiple platforms.

Passwords is of course a password management application officially launched by Apple. In addition to being available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices, it will also be available on Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems.

Apple said:

The secure end-to-end encryption supports the iCloud synchronization function. Passwords works seamlessly with the Safari browser and can be seamlessly synchronized with the user's Apple devices and Windows devices that have downloaded the iCloud for Windows App.
