Apple Increases iPhone 16 Stocking, Faces Challenges in Chinese and European Markets

TapTechNews July 14th news, according to the Taiwan media Economic Daily report, Apple has twice increased the stocking quantity of the iPhone 16 series mobile phones in nearly a month, increasing the relevant stocking quantity to 95 million units, showing full confidence in the sales of new products.

Industry insiders pointed out that the AppleIntelligence function launched by Apple in WWDC2024 is only fully experienced by the iPhone 15Pro/ProMax and subsequent models, which is expected to stimulate the user's demand for phone replacement. Originally, the industry estimated that the new phone stocking quantity of Apple's iPhone 16 series mobile phones this year is about 92 million to 95 million units. Now it seems that it is expected to exceed 95 million units.

Insiders believe that Apple's two major supply chains, TSMC and Hon Hai, will benefit from the production of the iPhone 16, and it is expected that the operating revenue in the second half of the year will be significantly stronger than that in the first half of the year, and supply chain enterprises such as Zhen Ding, Xin Xing, Hua Tong, Taiwan County, Yao Hua, and Jing Shuo will also benefit, and the peak season effect can be expected.

Referring to the TapTechNews report on July 9th, Apple's main contract manufacturer Foxconn has already started recruiting workers in the peak season. It is reported that the hourly salary of the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou Airport has been increased to $3.9 (25 yuan), and the Foxconn factory in Longhua, Shenzhen has also started large-scale recruitment.

However, there are still uncertainties in the Chinese market for Apple's iPhone 16 series. The official has not announced AppleIntelligence's partners, and it is said that no relevant cooperation agreement has been reached yet.

There are also problems in the promotion of AppleIntelligence in the European market. In the initial stage of the function's launch, only American English is supported, and it will not be launched in the EU market after the iPhone 16 series is launched. Apple said in June this year that it needs more time to consider how to make AppleIntelligence comply with the requirements of the Digital Markets Act.
