HUAWEI Tablet's PC-level WPS Update Adds Fonts and U Disk Support
TapTechNews, June 13th. Today, HUAWEI Tablet's PC-level WPS application has received an upgrade, adding common fonts and supporting U disk access and editing functions.
It is introduced that HUAWEI's PC application engine was released in August 2022 and initially supported the PC-level WPS application, which can realize the complete basic PC operations of the WPS Office software on the tablet side.

Added Common Fonts
On HUAWEI Tablet's PC-level WPS, 6 common fonts such as Songti, Fangsong, Heiti, Yuanti, Kai, and Lishu are newly added, and the degree of customization for user document editing is higher.
Added U Disk Access and Editing
After this update, direct access to the U disk directory and opening of files are supported in PC-level applications. Users can import the files in the U disk into the PC-level WPS for editing without the need for transmission through other means.
The steps of U disk access and editing operation are as follows:
Connect the U disk to the tablet → Select Open File in the PC-level WPS → Browse and select the file in the U disk.
The U disk files in the file manager can be directly opened with the PC-level WPS, and users can directly choose Save to U disk to save the file back to the U disk.
In addition, the PC-level WPS now supports multiple U disk file access management. Users can open each U disk respectively in the file manager to achieve switching and managing the files in different U disks in the PC-level WPS.
The official said that the HUAWEI tablet models that support the PC-level WPS function need to be upgraded to the HarmonyOS4.2 version or above, and the HUAWEI PC application engine needs to be upgraded to version 204.0.0.040 to experience.
The way to check the version number of the H UAWEI PC application engine is as follows:
Settings → Applications and Services → Application Management → ∷ in the upper right corner → Show System Programs → Search for the Huawei PC Application Engine application.
