NIO's Li Bin Talks about Product Switching and Live Broadcasts

TapTechNews August 20th news, Zeekr released the new generation of Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 007 models a week ago, but it triggered a public opinion storm due to the overly fast model update and replacement.

Regarding this matter, Li Bin, the founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, said at today's 2024 NIO Power Day conference: This is an industry problem. The logic of the automotive industry's iteration has changed, and there will definitely be problems with product switching.

He mentioned that NIO also experienced a major product switch last year (TapTechNews note: NIO went public and delivered models such as NIO ET5T, NIO ES6, NIO EC6, and NIO ES8 in 2023), and also had a lot of lessons learned.

First, do a good job in maintaining the stock of existing users when switching, and have long-term planning and systematic thinking;

Secondly, do a good job in residual value management. NIO has established a used car department and also does a good job in the charging and maintenance services of used cars;

Finally, do a good job in user operation and communication when doing intergenerational switching.

Li Bin emphasized, This is a difficult problem faced by all enterprises, and hope users understand and find ways together.

Regarding the matter of car company bosses doing live broadcasts, he also said: Doing live broadcasts himself is not to be a KOL. Mr. Lei was very influential before, and now he has entered the automotive industry. We can't compare with him, but still do services honestly and do live broadcasts by the way.

Li Bin emphasized that his live broadcasts are all related to work and are done only when needed at a certain node. It's not deliberately planned, just set up the phone and start broadcasting directly, without the burden of being an idol, simpler and more real.
