NIO's New Portable Charger and Plans for Power County-to-County Connectivity

TapTechNews August 20th news, NIO held the 2024 NIO Power Day conference today and released a new generation of portable vehicle-to-vehicle charging all-in-one machine, and officially announced the Power County-to-County Connectivity plan.

In the post-conference interview session, Li Bin, the founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, said about the matter of car company bosses doing live broadcasts: Doing live broadcasts himself is not to be a KOL.

Mr. Lei was very influential before, and now he has entered the automotive industry. We can't compare with him. We still do services honestly and do live broadcasts incidentally.

Li Bin emphasized that his live broadcasts are all related to work and are only done when there is a need at a certain node. It's not a deliberate plan. Just set up the phone and start broadcasting directly, without the burden of being an idol, simpler and more real.

Regarding whether car companies such as Xiaomi and XPeng will join the battery swap alliance, he said that NIO's attitude is open and does not force. If NIO and LeDao sell well, everyone will naturally join; if they don't sell well and force people to come in, others won't be willing either.

Li Bin said that NIO's goal is to complete the battery swap county-to-county connectivity in 14 provincial-level administrative regions by June 30, 2025, covering more than 1,200 county-level administrative regions. The first batch includes Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Macau, Guangdong, Hubei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, Anhui, Fujian, etc.
