Debian Linux to Support Systemd Boot

TapTechNews June 5th news, Luca Boccassi, the developer of the Debian Linux operating system, disclosed that he is working on supporting systemd boot for debian-installer, meaning that the Debian system installer will usher in an alternative to the GRUB boot.

The latest submitted patch file shows that in the first supported version, only by enabling the expert mode in the Debian installer can the systemd-boot boot be used. But over time, after sufficient testing and resolving UEFI secure boot integration, the systemd boot method may be opened to all users. However, developers still plan to keep GRUB as the default boot loader for Debian.

TapTechNews note: systemd is an initialization system tool, and many popular Linux distributions run systemd by default, which is positioned as fast and with low overhead.

GRUB is a boot loader from the GNU project, which allows users to select the operating system to boot and the boot parameters, and provides an interactive command-line interface.
