Samsung Invests Billions in Texas Semiconductor Factory and Builds Highway

TapTechNews June 8th news, Samsung has invested tens of billions of dollars to build a semiconductor factory in Tyler, Texas, USA. In order to meet the development needs, it also built a highway for this factory, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the highway was held this Friday and named SamsungHighway.

In order to improve the surrounding traffic conditions of the Tyler factory, Samsung specially built this highway and officially named it Samsung Highway. In the ribbon-cutting event held this Friday, Williamson County, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and Samsung attended to celebrate the completion of the highway.

Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, expressed appreciation for the completion of the highway, saying that it will become the largest foreign direct investment portal project in the history of Texas.

Abbott said: Samsung's investment in Texas exceeds 40 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 290.219 billion Chinese yuan), creating thousands of job opportunities and is a leading enterprise for the future success of our great state. Today, we are here to celebrate the next stage of Samsung's Tyler Semiconductor Factory, investing more than 16.6 million US dollars on the new Samsung Highway.

Samsung also improved and widened Rural Road 401, Rural Road 404, and Farm-to-Market Road 973, further improving the surrounding road conditions.
