Ant Group Fully Acquires Haodf Online, Merges into Alipay's Medical Ecosystem
TapTechNews September 14th news, according to Caixin's report this afternoon, Ant Group has fully acquired Haodf Online. Recently, the shareholder of the operating entity of Haodf Online, Interactive Peak Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., has changed. The wholly-owned subsidiary of Ant Technology Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yunyang Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd., has become its sole shareholder, with a 100% shareholding ratio.
It is reported that after the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic, online diagnosis and treatment once became very popular. There were once investors who wanted to enter Haodf at a high premium but were rejected. This acquisition saw a significant shrinkage in the (Haodf's) valuation compared to before. This change means that the three founders of Haodf Online, Wang Hang, Hu Shaoyu, Luo Dan, as well as the original other shareholders Lei Jun, Lu Yongyan, etc., have withdrawn from the shareholder list. Haodf Online, Ant Group, and the original shareholders all stated that there is no more information to be released for now.
According to TapTechNews' report in August this year, after opening the Medical and Health channel on the Alipay home page and selecting the Online Consultation column, users can see the words Haodf, and the page presents content that is identical to the Expert Consultation interface of the Haodf Online App. The same doctors, the same order, and even the avatar photos, personal profiles, user ratings, and consultation prices are all exactly the same. An insider of Alipay's medical and health business said that the two sides had reached relevant business cooperation as early as the end of June this year.
This report said that this sign means that the expert information and platform data of Haodf Online have been moved to the Alipay medical and health channel and have become a new entrance to the Alipay medical ecosystem.
