Smart Announces New #5 SUV with Outdoor Adventure Kit
TapTechNews August 8th news, smart car announced today that the new smart #5, a "luxurious grand five-seat SUV", will be equipped with a "Outdoor Adventure Kit", and released a set of hand-drawn pictures of this kit for preheating. The kit, designed by Mercedes-Benz, claims to take into account both safety and performance and contains side climbing ladder, side storage box, roof platform and other components, and is expected to be provided to users as an optional package.
The "X-shaped painted roof platform" in this kit adopts a modular design, which has flexibility and future upgrade space. The double-layer detachable structure reserves space to accommodate more outdoor equipment and meet various usage scenarios. At the same time, four standard mounting ports are also reserved on the side of the roof platform, providing more possibilities for action cameras or other expansion accessories.
The kit also includes a convenient access side step, made of matte metal with capsule anti-slip round pads on the surface, which has the characteristics of anti-slip and wear resistance; the "small backpack" installed on the left D-pillar of the body can be used to store various items, and the side climbing ladder installed on the right D-pillar can be folded and telescoped to further enhance the tough style of the whole vehicle.
Images shown by Zhang Mingxia, CMO of the smart brand global company, show that the installed smart #5 with this kit can place a series of outdoor-related items such as bicycles, surfboards, spare tires and even camping tents on the roof.
According to TapTechNews' previous report, smart #5 will have its world premiere in Australia on August 28, and this car will be the world's first mass-produced car equipped with ByteDance's "Doubao" AI large model.
Its body dimensions are 4705mm x 1920mm x 1705mm, and the wheelbase is 2900mm, which looks slightly different from what everyone imagined "smart" to be, and can be said to be the "largest" smart brand car ever.
