ByteDance Becomes Rights-Holding Broadcaster for 2024 Paris Olympics

TapTechNews noticed that the Paris Olympics will be held from July 26th to August 11th. During the event, users can watch Olympic event on-demand and full-game replays on platforms such as TikTok and Toutiao. TikTok will also launch a wealth of contents such as infield and outfield information, and multiple exclusive sports programs.

In addition, many current athletes will use short videos and live broadcasts to share their training, daily life and post-game remarks during the Paris Olympics, and many retired athletes and famous commentators will also launch multi-dimensional contents such as event interpretations and sports science popularization to present the scenes inside and outside the stadium.

According to the official introduction, in 2022, the ByteDance Group cooperated with CCTV and broadcasted the Qatar World Cup. The total cumulative number of views of all-game live broadcasts on TikTok reached 10.6 billion, and the total interaction of users in live broadcasts was 1.3 billion. In 2023, the ByteDance Group cooperated with CCTV again and became the rights-holding broadcaster for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, with a total cumulative number of views of game live broadcasts reaching 6.2 billion.

It is worth noting that this cooperation is also the first time that the ByteDance Group has become the rights-holding broadcaster of the Olympics.
