It is reported that since international chess uses three-dimensional chess pieces and the shapes of the chess pieces have their own characteristics and are unevenly arranged, this poses a great difficulty for the robot to grasp and identify the chess pieces.

Compared to the previous chess version and Go version of the AI chess-playing robot, the international chess version robot has set four degrees of freedom according to the characteristics of the three-dimensional chess pieces, constituting a flexible structure of shoulder, elbow, forearm, and claw four degrees of freedom, and has extremely high precision and stability of 0.5mm vertical grasping operation, which can pick up quail eggs without breaking.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, in June last year, SenseTime released the Go version of the Yuan Luobo AI chess-playing robot, which also has piece placement confirmation, direction keys, and a robotic arm like the chess version. In 2022, SenseTime Technology released the chess version of the Yuan Luobo AI chess-playing robot. According to the official introduction, it integrates traditional chess culture and artificial intelligence technology, which can not only accompany children to learn and play chess, but also exercise thinking, protect eyesight, and conduct industry chess technical level evaluation.
