Genesis President Mike Song said in an interview with TopGear magazine during this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed that the company will invest to launch as many hybrid models as possible next year instead of fully betting on electric vehicles. Currently, Genesis has not launched any hybrid or plug-in hybrid models yet, but under the new strategy, we are expected to see these models in the entire brand lineup. We will apply to as many models as possible, Mike Song said.

This is not surprising. TapTechNews noted that Kia, the sister company of Hyundai Motor Group, has stated that it is working hard to add more hybrid and plug-in hybrid models to its brand portfolio.

Nonetheless, Genesis remains committed to achieving a pure electric lineup at some point. Mike Song said, Electrification is still our vision. We will have 100% electric vehicles, but now the market and customers prefer hybrid vehicles more, so we really hope to bring Genesis' hybrid vehicles to the market as soon as possible.

In order to solidify this goal, Mike Song also said that Genesis is developing a new pure electric platform. According to Edmunds, this platform may only be used for the Genesis luxury brand and will not be shared with Hyundai and Kia, unlike the E-GMP platform that provides the chassis for Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia EV6, and Genesis GV60.
