TapTechNews learned from publicly available information that the Audi factory located in Brussels has about 3,000 employees. After 70 years of producing internal combustion engine models, the factory switched to producing electric vehicles (EVs) in 2018. Currently, it is producing high-end electric vehicles (Q8 e-tron models).

In July this year, Audi announced a plan to restructure the Brussels factory and said it is considering prematurely stopping the production of the Audi Q8 e-tron electric vehicle at this factory. The Audi management emphasized that production in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is costly.

On Monday morning, the march of thousands of workers challenged the EU leaders, demanding large-scale EU investment to protect industrial employment.

According to the information provided by the local police, 5,500 people participated in the march on Monday, while the organizers said there were more than 10,000 people. There were teams from Germany, Poland, France and the Netherlands in the marching procession.
