Tesla's Aggressive Expansion in China's Charging Market

Official data shows that more than 11,500+ Tesla Superchargers have been built across the country currently, with an availability rate of over 99.5%; about 250 kilometers of energy can be replenished with just 15 minutes of charging.

If third-party chargers are included, then the 10.24 million chargers across the country are all available to Tesla owners, which is equivalent to five times the number of fuel guns.

TapTechNews found that the data previously released by Tesla shows that as of May this year, the number of Supercharger stations open for use in Chinese mainland has exceeded 1950, and Tesla's charging network layout has 100% covered all provincial capital cities and municipalities directly under the Central Government in Chinese mainland.

In addition, Tesla continues to promote the process of 'oil-to-electric' in the industry. In April 2023, Tesla piloted the opening of charging stations to some non-Tesla brand new energy vehicles in Chinese mainland. As of May this year, Tesla has opened more than 450 Supercharger stations and 350 destination charging stations in Chinese mainland, 100% covering all provinces in Chinese mainland.

As of June this year, there have been 520 Tesla direct-sale stores in Chinese mainland, covering 83 cities in Chinese mainland; there are 297 Tesla direct-sale and authorized paint and spray centers, covering 180 cities in Chinese mainland.
