First Central Asian Route of ARJ21 Opened by Chengdu Airlines

TapTechNews June 7 news, according to the news from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd., the flight EU2977 operated by Chengdu Airlines' ARJ21 aircraft flew from Kashgar Laining International Airport in Xinjiang to Khujand Airport in Tajikistan today. The Kashgar-Khujand route has officially opened, marking the opening of the first Central Asian route of ARJ21 aircraft.

Kashgar is located in the southwest of Xinjiang and is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center in southern Xinjiang. It has the special geographical advantage of having five ports connecting eight countries and one road connecting Eurasia, and is also a node city in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the starting point city of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Khujand is the second largest city in Tajikistan and a famous ancient city in Central Asia. It and Kashgar are both important towns along the ancient Silk Road. The opening of the Kashgar-Khujand round-trip route will further promote the exchanges and connections in the fields of economy, culture and tourism between Kashgar and Khujand, support Xinjiang to build the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and help to create an Air Silk Road.

Chengdu Airlines has started large-scale operation in Xinjiang since June last year. In more than a year, it has already put into operation 9 ARJ21 aircraft in Xinjiang with Turpan, Yining and Kashgar as the bases, and opened 43 round-trip and connecting flight routes, covering 23 airports in Xinjiang, with a coverage rate of 92%.
