When interviewed by the MrMattyPlays YouTube channel, Todd stated that as long as the original games can still run, Bethesda gives priority to ensuring that these games are still playable on modern hardware.

So, on the PC, obviously make (sure) they're available for people to get to and play, and make sure they're running properly.

In addition, Todd also believes that conducting modern upgrades to Fallout and Fallout 2, which were released in 1997 and 1998 respectively, might erase some of their personality.

I think part of the charm of the games of that era and the original Fallout lies in a little bit of that age.

So, I definitely don't want to cover up some of that with 'Well, we changed the way it runs so it's more modern.' So as long as you can download it, as long as it can load and run, I think I want people to experience it the way it was.

TapTechNews previously reported that Todd also said in an interview that BETHESDA would 'not rush' to release a new Fallout game and hopes that every installment in the Fallout series is 'a meaningful moment'.
