China's First Offshore Intelligent Drilling and Production Platform Completed Installation

TapTechNews May 17th news, TapTechNews learned from the official Weibo of @CNOOC Conch Signal that at 8 o'clock today (May 17th), as the upper module of the Huizhou 26-6 drilling and production platform weighing 17,000 tons precisely completed the docking with the jacket, China's first offshore intelligent drilling and production platform completed the offshore installation. The platform will continuously transport the oil and gas hidden deep in the seabed to thousands of households on land through a series of powerful functions such as intelligent production, intelligent drilling, equipment health management, intelligent security, and typhoon production mode.

The total weight of the Huizhou 26-6 drilling and production platform exceeds 30,000 tons. The upper module that completed the float-over this time weighs about 17,000 tons, is 93 meters long, 42 meters wide, and 42 meters high, and the deck projection area is equivalent to the size of 8 standard basketball courts.

According to another report from Southern Plus, as the first intelligent drilling and production platform independently designed and constructed by CNOOC, the Huizhou 26-6 platform has integrated five intelligent modules such as the 'uper brain', edge intelligent computing station, and data security control device through intensive design, and is equipped with 10 subsystems such as the process simulation optimization system and energy consumption monitoring and management system and intelligent inspection system. The number of intelligent equipment is three times that of the traditional platform, but the occupied space is reduced by 1/3. It has a series of powerful functions such as intelligent production, intelligent drilling, equipment health management, and intelligent security, which can improve the production efficiency by 20% and reduce the operation and maintenance cost by 10% every year.

In the future, the Huizhou 26-6 oilfield development project will enhance the clean energy supply capacity in South China after it is completed, and contribute to the economic and social construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. At the same time, the new platform can provide support for the development of newly discovered oil and gas fields in the surrounding area, realize regional contiguous development, and maximize the resource value and economic benefits.
