TapTechNews on May 17th, MSI today teased the MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI III motherboard. The biggest feature of this motherboard is that it has replaced with Realtek's 5G wired network card.
In addition to supporting 5G wired network, this motherboard also uses Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 wireless network card and Realtek ALC4080 sound card.

The MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI III adopts an 8-layer PCB design and is covered with 2 ounces of copper foil. This motherboard adopts a 19+1+1-phase power supply design, and the core part is equipped with 105A Dr. MOS.
In terms of memory, the MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI III motherboard is equipped with 4 DDR5 memory slots, and supports up to DDR5-7800 memory overclocking.
The MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI III has 3 PCIe slots, of which the top main PCIe slot is alloy-reinforced and supports PCIe Gen5, the second slot is PCIe Gen3 x1, and the third is a physical x16 PCIe Gen4 x4.

This expansion card can provide 2 USB4 interfaces and 2 DP1.4 interfaces. After connecting the PCIe 6-pin auxiliary power supply cable, the first Type-C interface can provide 100W PD power supply, and the second interface can also provide 27W PD output.
