Zhihu's Mid-Year Update Revenue, Loss, Content, Users, and More

As of June 30, 2024, the cumulative content on the platform reached 830.9 million items, with a year-on-year increase of 16.8%. Zhihu claims that it has made substantial progress towards the goal of break-even in the first half of this year. As of the end of June this year, the gross profit margin has achieved a consecutive seven-quarter year-on-year increase, reaching the highest level since the company's initial public offering in the United States.

In terms of users, the average monthly subscribed members of Zhihu increased from 14.4 million in the same period in 2023 to 14.7 million in the first half of this year. As of June 30, 2024, 74.3% of active users are under the age of 30, and female users account for 61.9% of the total monthly active users in June 2024.

In the first half of 2024, the total number of content creators who received income on Zhihu increased by more than 25% year-on-year, and the number of content creators who benefited from the Zhi Zhi plan increased by twice compared to the same period last year. In addition, as of June 30, 2024, Zhihu has cumulatively 74.9 million content creators, an increase of 12.5% compared to 66.6 million in the same period last year.
