TapTechNews September 23rd news, according to the official website of the Ministry of Communications and Media of Vietnam, the Vietnamese government officially promulgated the development strategy of the Vietnamese semiconductor industry until 2030 and the vision until 2050 on the 21st local time, with the goal of building Vietnam into one of the world's leading semiconductor centers.
The overall semiconductor strategy of the Vietnamese government can be simply described as C=SET+1: where C is Chip; S stands for Specialized, representing specialized semiconductors; E is the abbreviation of Electronics, referring to the downstream electronics industry; and T is Talent, emphasizing the importance of talents in the chip industry; +1 reflects Vietnam's location and policy advantages in the era of semiconductor supply chain diversification.
Specific to the goals, the Vietnamese government plans to develop the country's semiconductor industry in stages by year:
It is planned to form 100 semiconductor design enterprises, have 1 small chip manufacturer and 10 packaging and testing enterprises, and develop specialized semiconductor products in multiple industries.
The annual revenue of the semiconductor industry reaches more than 25 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 176.336 billion yuan) or above, and the annual revenue of the electronics industry exceeds 225 billion US dollars (currently about 1.59 trillion yuan).
It is planned to form 200 semiconductor design enterprises, have 2 chip manufacturers and 15 packaging and testing enterprises, and gradually independently design and produce specialized semiconductor products.
The annual revenue of the semiconductor industry reaches more than 55 billion US dollars (currently about 38.7938 billion yuan) or above, and the annual revenue of the electronics industry exceeds 485 billion US dollars (currently about 3.42 trillion yuan).
It is planned to form 300 semiconductor design enterprises, have 3 chip manufacturers and 20 packaging and testing enterprises, and master the research and development in the semiconductor field.
The annual revenue of the semiconductor industry reaches more than 100 billion US dollars (currently about 70.5343 billion yuan) or above, and the annual revenue of the electronics industry exceeds 1045 billion US dollars (currently about 7.37 trillion yuan).
