TapTechNews May 26th news, according to BMWBLOG reports, at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este classic car show held by Lake Como in 2024, the BMW Skytop concept car made its world debut.
TapTechNews noticed that the smooth lines of the Skytop real car can't help but remind people of BMW's once classic design. The Skytop with only two seats has a manually removable hardtop roof, and the rear window can be electrically raised and lowered with one button.
Through the Skytop, BMW pays tribute to the classic designs in the brand's history, such as the Z8 and 503 models. The shark-nose style front end design is reproduced on the concept car, making people feel like going back to the past. Although this car is currently only a concept car, the possibility of limited production is not ruled out. The small spoiler installed on the shoulder of the car door makes the side lines of the body more smooth, and this design element may be applied on future mass-produced models.
The custom paint job of the Skytop is also eye-catching. It is reported that this special color scheme was created by a special team in the Dingolfing factory. They cleverly combined the reddish-brown hardtop roof with the matte silver body, and supplemented with the chrome shadow effect. This gradual color tone is specially designed for the Skytop.
Looking forward to the Skytop not just being a flash in the pan concept car, but heralding a new chapter in BMW's design. The 2025 iX3 replacement model and the i3 sedan to be launched in 2026 will both represent the arrival of BMW's Neue Klasse (new design language), bringing an exciting style transformation to future mass-produced models.
