Is this true? If you have some understanding of RMB and commemorative coins, you can almost tell at a glance that this is a false rumor.
According to the verification, the 1000-yuan ticket sample with the dragon pattern is highly similar to the pattern of the 100-yuan 'Millennium Dragon Note' issued by the People's Bank of China in 2000, with only slight differences in denomination and details, which is obviously the result of image editing.
In fact, according to Article 18 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the People's Bank of China, when the People's Bank of China issues a new version of RMB, it shall announce the issuance time, denomination, pattern, style and specification. However, the official channels of the People's Bank of China have not released any announcements about the issuance of a new version of RMB.
Further search found that the news of 'issuing a large-denomination new version of RMB' is an old rumor that pops up every now and then and has been repeatedly refuted. Among them, the 1000-yuan ticket sample was once widely spread in 2016. At that time, the central bank clearly responded: The central bank has no intention of issuing large-denomination RMB yet, and this ticket sample is completely forged; as for the 500-yuan ticket sample, it was officially refuted in 2006, claiming that it was fabricated by netizens.
The central bank pointed out that the act of creating and spreading false news about RMB belongs to the act of damaging RMB, which will affect the normal circulation of RMB and endanger the financial order, with a very bad nature.
