TikTok Reportedly Conducts Layoffs in Africa with More Expected in 2024

TapTechNews August 13th news, according to techcabal reports, informed sources disclosed that TikTok carried out layoffs in Africa in June this year, involving content operation, marketing and trust and safety teams, and claimed that more layoffs are expected in the third quarter of 2024.

Former TikTok employees revealed that more than half of the TikTok Africa team located in South Africa and Nigeria were affected. In addition, TikTok reduced some positions of the African team in March this year.

TikTok refused to comment on any part of this matter.
