RapidTap is SteelSeries' implementation of SOCD (TapTechNews note: Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions). SCOD allows the keyboard to discard the previous input and execute the later input when it detects an input opposite to the previous one.

Corresponding to the FPS game operation, SOCD can help players achieve more rapid strafing and peeking.

Razer launched a similar SnapTap quick-tapping function for the Huntsman V3 Pro keyboard on July 9th, and another peripheral company, Wooting, has also released a SOCD function update.

However, SOCD effectively achieves the same effect as console null-binds binding in CS2, and null-binds is banned in most CS2 professional competitions. In other words players using SOCD have a significant advantage, which has sparked widespread controversy in the player community whether it is compliant and fair.

A CS2 professional player who did not want to be named told the foreign media HLTV after testing the Razer SnapTap function:

On an ordinary keyboard, I can never stop well every time. And there will be a delay in the response of the game/keyboard.

My first feeling (after trying SnapTap) is that the strafing is more consistent and the movement is more concise, just like in CS:GO. You won't feel'slippery feet' when strafing. Of course, when you press the key, the response is also immediate.
