According to TapTechNews contributors, the iPhone 17Pro series phones will upgrade to a brand-new telephoto lens quadruple prism, which is different from the current quadruple prism, and it was said that it may be only used in the iPhone 17ProMax, and also showed the physical object of the quadruple prism with a new design.

According to Apple's official statement, the quadruple reflecting prism reflects the light four times through the folded glass structure behind the lens. This allows the light to pass through a longer optical path without changing the space, thereby bringing a longer new focal length.

To assist the quadruple reflecting prism design, Apple has also added a 3D sensor shift-type optical image stabilization and autofocus module in the iPhone 15ProMax, which can be displaced in all three directions to achieve stabilization.

Tianfeng Securities analyst Guo Mingxi once revealed in September 2023 that the iPhone 16Pro series (both Pro and Max models) will use the same quadruple prism as the iPhone 15Pro Max. He also predicted that the iPhone shipments with a quadruple prism camera will increase by about 110% in 2024, equivalent to 70 to 80 million units.
